The League's goals included disarmament, preventing war through collective security, settling disputes between countries through negotiation, diplomacy and improving global welfare.

Pros of The League of Nations: 1) It would insure open treaties openly reached between nations, eliminating secrecy and surprise between unsuspecting nations.  2) It would insure freedom of the seas promoting international trade and commerce  3) It would help to prevent future wars and political disagreements  4) It would help make the world safe for democracy

Cons of The League of Nations: 1) It wouldn't work. It will be endless debate and arguments 2) It would make America the babysitter of the world 3) It will needlessly drag America into every international dispute 4) It will require that America be constantly ready for military involvement to aid smaller nations anywhere in the world 5) this ended up in the resentment of many countries and eventually led to World War Two.
